OVERVIEW

Collaboration, team building and partnering are three core leadership competencies most people do not know how to develop and maintain.

Most people can't even tell you the steps to undertake in order to create a high performing team, or develop a long-term relationship with others that is based on collaboration and mutual interests.

In this module, participants will learn how to work cooperatively, how to develop a high performing team and how to foster collaborative relationships with others.

SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
  1. Define in simple terms the concept of a team.



  2. Explain how a work group may differ from a team.



  3. Explain what it means to be a high performing team.



  4. Use teambuilding principles to develop a high performing team.



  5. Explain the different types of teams and manage them.



  6. Explain the various stages of team development and manage each stage.



  7. Identify the danger signs of the groupthink phenomena and avoid the negative consequences.



  8. Identify, facilitate and communicate individual team roles, values, norms and operating principles.



  9. Create team accountability.



  10. Facilitate partnering agreements.



  11. Explain and avoid the major obstacles or leader mistakes that interfere with the development of high performing teams.



  12. Implement a personal plan of action that will promote, inspire, and encourage teamwork and collaborative relationships.
